SKC / Low Friction Sliding Surface Material (Two-component Composite Material)
Low-friction sliding surface materials that can avoid slip-stick on the sliding surfaces of machine tools!
SKC has over 35 years of experience in producing special materials for sliding surfaces and worm racks used in machine tools and industrial machinery. SKC's products are standardly adopted by many manufacturers of machine tools and industrial machinery. This is a two-component epoxy resin with special performance that is applied to the sliding surfaces of machine tools, consisting of a base agent and a hardener. There are mainly two types with different fluidities: - The type applied to the sliding surface using a spatula leads the machine to high rigidity due to high surface pressure. - The type that uses a dedicated syringe to fix the position (height) of the bed and sliding surface before injecting the material with the syringe excels in workability. The static friction coefficient achieved by the combination of SKC and gray cast iron is about 1/7 compared to the static friction coefficient between gray cast iron surfaces. Additionally, the low elastic compressive stress at the start of sliding makes it possible to eliminate the stick-slip phenomenon that tends to occur on the sliding surfaces of machine tools. This is precisely the main feature of SKC.
